As 2015 comes to a close we want to thank each of you for taking the time to engage with us, read our newsletter, visit our website (, attend our community events and work to elect great Democrats like Rep. Gomberg, Senator Roblan, Commissioner Hall, Governor Kate Brown, AG Ellen Rosenblum and others that help to make Lincoln County and Oregon a great place to call our home.

With your help we hosted many compelling community events and speakers such as:

  • Focus on Education in Lincoln County and the School Board Candidate Debate
  • Iran P5+1 Nuclear Agreement
  • Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum
  • Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon
    • Joint program with Central Oregon Coast NOW
  • Climate Changed at OCCC with NASA's Dr. Michelle Thaller and
    • the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute.
  • A Better Oregon (Large Corporate Fair Share Taxation)
  • Oregonians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty
We've also expanded our website and technology capability -if you haven't had a chance -please visit and let us know what you think? On our front page we've uploaded compelling video covering important issues we all care about from living wages, healthcare, fair share taxation to racial justice and women's rights.

In 2016 we will be focusing on the election cycle and using technology to bring Lincoln County closer together. Lincoln County spans almost 1,200 square miles -and it is logistically challenging to bring all of us together for compelling programs and events. In the new year we will be looking to support the growth of local Democratic groups in Lincoln City, Newport, Siletz and Yachats/Waldport -and we will discuss that at our January 27th event and in future web teleconferences -with thanks to Steve and Carolyn Crandall who will be leading this important effort.

We need to expand our Precinct Committee Persons roster -we will be voting on confirmation for several people that have signed up to be PCP's at our early December meeting -and are hoping to continue to fill vacancies -especially in south county precincts (Yachats/Waldport area) and in Lincoln City.

From the Lincoln County Democratic Central Committee to all of you -we are grateful for your support and engagement -because politics is not just for spectators -it is imperative that we all remain active to protect our county, state, country and planet.

We hope you are in the midst of a wonderful holiday season and we look forward to working with you toward a better tomorrow!

Please consider clicking here and supporting our work through a secure one time or (even better!) recurring donation to the Lincoln County Democratic Central Committee. Your support helps us sponsor informative programs, covers the cost of our website, printing, meeting space costs, insurance and other operating costs to keep us viable. We do not receive funds from the DNC or State -so your local support is imperative to continue our work (and we are all volunteers). Thank you!

Don't forget that Oregon offers a Political Tax Credit to taxpayers making less than $100,000 per individual or $200,000 for joint-filing couples (as always -check with your accountant or financial adviser if unsure). Help support great local programs and keep Lincoln County blue with a contribution today!

You can also support the Ellen Rosenblum Youth Democracy Award ProgramClick here and contribute securely with ActBlue -your donation will automatically be earmarked for this purpose.

Our next public meeting will be Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 7pm at the Lincoln City Cultural Center.

Please join Rep. David Gomberg, Commissioner Bill Hall and others as we kick off the critical 2016 election cycle.
